Meet Jamie, Zak and the J&Z team
J&Z Property Maintenance is a family-run building and property maintenance company operating across Cardiff, Newport, Barry and the wider South Wales area. We were founded by brothers Jamie and Zak with a straightforward aim — to deliver honest, high-quality building and maintenance work with a personal approach that larger companies can't match.
Every project we take on, from a single handyman visit to a full home renovation, is treated the way we'd want someone to treat our own homes. That's not a marketing line — it's the standard we hold ourselves to on every job
Jamie - Co-founder & lead contractor
Jamie co-founded J&Z Property Maintenance after spending five years working alongside Chris Case — an award-winning builder with decades of experience in the South Wales construction industry. That apprenticeship gave Jamie a grounding in every aspect of building and property work, from groundwork and structural alterations through to finishing and renovation.
Jamie oversees every project we take on — scoping the work, managing the team on site and making sure the finished job matches what was agreed in the written quote. He is the named contact for every client and the person who visits for every free estimate.

Zak - Co-founder & operations
Zak co-founded J&Z Property Maintenance alongside his brother Jamie. With a background in construction and project coordination, Zak manages the operational side of the business — scheduling, materials, client communication and making sure projects run on time and to the agreed scope.
Together, Jamie and Zak built the business from the ground up — starting with hands-on project work across Cardiff and growing it into a team covering Cardiff, Newport, Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan.
How J&Z Property Maintenance started
J&Z Property Maintenance was founded by brothers Jamie and Zak with the aim of doing one thing well — building and property work you can trust, delivered by people you can get hold of.
Jamie spent five years working alongside Chris Case, an award-winning builder with decades of experience in the South Wales construction industry, before setting up the business independently. Chris continues to work closely with the team and brings a level of building knowledge that most property maintenance companies simply don't have access to.
The business grew from a simple principle: treat every property as if it were your own. That means honest quotes, work done properly the first time, and a team that turns up when they say they will. It sounds straightforward, but it's rarer than it should be.
We operate across Cardiff, Newport, Barry and the wider South Wales area. Every estimate is free, every quote is written, and every job is managed from first visit to final sign-off by the same team.
What we stand for
- Honest from the start. We visit, assess and quote in writing before any work begins. If a job is outside our scope or genuinely needs a different trade, we tell you — we don't take on work we can't do well.
